New
Year's
Resolution
12/29/08
What
are your New Year's Resolution for 2009?
For
the next few days, millions of people all over the world
will be questioning their lives, thinking what they did and
what they DIDN'T do in 2008, and promissing themselves to
do differently in 2009. And then comes the list for the New
Year's Resolution...
realizar o velho sonho (carro, casa,
viagem...);
- emagrecer, ou fazer
algum esporte;
- ser mais maleável,
mais emocionalmente equilibrado;
- namorar mais / casar
/ se livrar do problema;
- trocar de emprego ou
iniciar um negócio próprio;
- parar de inventar
desculpas e procrastinar;
- levar a
sério um curso/estudo
(English,
perhaps?)
... e logo, logo
esquecemos nossas próprias promessas. Será que é pura falta
de memória? Ou falta de motivação? Falta de estabelecer uma
estratégia, um plano de ação para o sucesso?
Whether your
plans to succeeding are related to finances,
personal growth, health and fitness, career, or
relationships, do you really want to keep your
resolutions in 2009?
I've read
that between 80% and 92% of all New Year's
Resolutions fail. Is that true for you,
too?
I
decided to do something different in 2008 and I must tell
you, I did get different results! Now, for 2009 I am
polishing the method and to succeed even more on
my new resolutions I'm creating this 3-Step Self-Guide
to Succeeding. It's a result of continuous
studying and research and I'm sure it's going to deliver
great results. How do I know? Because I have been
testing it over the last months and the
system works!
And
I want to share it with you!
The
Self-Guide to Succeeding consists of the
following actions:
1st. - To create a goal. It's
important to define what really you want. If you have
conflicting desires or intentions that are not so clear
yet, you won't be ready to create a clear goal and
accomplish it. For instance, let's say your goal is to
travel internationally in 2009, but the other goal is
to change jobs (the new job you are aiming at would leave
you no time to travel in 2009). So you have first to decide
what you want first; what is more important for you
now.
2nd. - Make a plan and follow
it. Once you decided what you really want,
you can make a plan. Like a road map for your success - no,
even better: like a Treasure Island Map! A detailed plan,
showing what's the treasure that's there for you and how to
get there! You need to be specific and set your
step-by-step action plan. For example, to travel
internationally you must define steps
like:
a)
where you want to go;
b)
when you want to go;
c)
how much it would cost;
d)
figure out how to raise that amount of money you'll need
and take the right action to get it;
e)
arrangements like family/friends as companions, if so;
someone to take care of your pet when you are gone; bills
to be paid while you are gone; etc...
f)
flight and hotel reservations...
g)
arrangements for passport, visa, learning English
(that always help a lot when you travel
abroad!).
Then
you FOLLOW your plan. One step at a time. Until you get
there.
3rd. - Let go of resistance.
What's this? Resistance is a feeling or a set of
feelings that pops up in our head every time we don't want
to do something. Why shouldn't we want to do something
that's related to our success? Well... because we are
programmed to think we will fail and we are afraid of
failure. We don't trust enough in our own abilities and
instincts; we consider too much other's opinions. We
resist because we are also programmed to believe we need to
work hard to get what we want, then we get lazy and
procrastinate. People procrastinate to be successful
because this is a way to remain in
their comfort zone - that means: be safe, be where
they are because they are used to that - even if
that sucks!
Resistance push us away from our goals,
therefore, from our success. So, remember: after
Creating a Goal and Making your
Plan and Following It, step outside your fears and
old psychological programming and Let Go of
Resistance. Just do it! Think: "I can do
it!" and do it! It's that
simple!
All
the rest will come with the flow.
Try
it - it doesn't cost anything! You won't lose
anything... but you can gain a lot in 2009. You can gain a
year of more success, more things accomplished, and more
joy!
If
you need more coaching and insight on the personal growth
subject, or if you also have been studying about the theme
and would like to exchange ideas, write me at

I've been studying and practicing it
a lot and I can gladly share with you what I've been
learning.
And
you gain twice, improving your self, and your
English!
