Nuts! 05/29/09
Because we
are nuts
about words!
Word Nuts is
sizzling!
Thanks to all the subscribers who wrote me saying how they
are enjoying to learn new words AND learn how to use them!
I'm happy to see your progress!
The word today is a noun
and a verb.
SIZZLE
/ˈsɪzəl/ = to make a hissing
sound like the sound of cold water being splashed in
hot pan; or the sound of delicious steak when is being
broiled, or bacon when is being fried.
You can hear the steak
sizzling in the pan.
I heard the
sizzle of frying bacon.
Hmmm... I'm getting hungry
with all this talk about food sizzling in
the pan! Hungry for sizzling
steak!!
You can also use it
figuratively, to express something exciting or
romantic:
The news that you won the
lottery has been sizzling all
month!
Our romance is still
sizzling!
That's it! I hope
you have a sizzling
weekend!
Be a Word Nuts and have fun with
words!

And Ask
Questions when you want to know
something!
